14 Mag Help us to save a life: Porto Badisco needs an AED
Despite the fact that Porto Badisco is one of the most popular vacation spots in the region, it is still without a life-saving defibrillator.
During the summer months more thousands of tourists visit the beaches with a potential risk of a cardiac arrest and now we don’t have the AED close at hand when it should be needed. The greater the volume of people, the greater the likelihood of an accident and an Automated external defibrillator (AED) use can make the difference between life and death. In fact, the only known treatment for sudden cardiac arrest is a shock from a defibrillator, administered as quickly as possible.
According to the American Heart Association, it’s estimated that more than 95 percent of cardiac arrest victims die before reaching the hospital. A victim’s chances of survival are reduced by 7 to 10 percent with every minute that passes without CPR and defibrillation.
The Association Porto Badisco was created to protect this unique territory for the locals and visitors who can enjoy the environmental beauty and historical importance of this land. Now we need your help to make your time in here safer and to give you the help as soon as it is needed.
Be our supporter in this project and donate as much as you want to help us to save a life.
Every euro counts. With you, we can do it together. Many of you already participated in this project and we are enormously grateful to you. Now we are halfway to our goal, so we hope that in 1 month we can buy the first AED. It will be available for use by the whole community during the summer.
